Social Studies Strand

1. Title of Project LANDFORMS/BODIES OF WATER POWERPOINT ASSIGNMENT
2. Description This assignment requires students to create a PowerPoint presentation that focuses on major landforms in Latin America. Each slide will consist of an image of the specific landforms, informational text, and links for more information about each landform / body of water.
3. Deliverables I will upload a sample PowerPoint and a brief overview of the project (Word).
4. Instructional Rationale This assignment is designed to have students research Latin American landforms (rivers, mountain ranges, deserts, etc.), report-out brief information about each landform/body of water and provide links about each landform/body of water.

5. Implementation Students will complete this assignment during the Latin America unit on their iMac computers. Students will have over four hours in class to complete the assignment. Once complete, students will present their PowerPoint to class.

6. Resources Needed Students will need their iMacs, PowerPoint software and access to the Internet. On the Internet, students will need to locate sites with images and data of specific landforms/bodies of water.

7. Process This assignment will take approximately three days to complete. Once the assignment is ready for submission, students will upload the PowerPoints onto their eBackpack accounts and into the teacher Dropbox.
